Nowhere

I am a month overdue on uploading those spring break pictures. Attempt number one failed after Facebook deleted the album I spent two hours uploading. I will try again soon, I promise! And a blog post will accompany the upload!

In the meantime, I have been trying to enjoy non-school life. Which, as it turns out, simply means I can work 12 hours a day instead of 8. Lovely! And I have two weeks to pack for Florida (by the way, I'm moving to Florida for the summer. Forgot to mention that. For a full recap of my acceptance to the summer alumni program at Walt Disney World, visit my other blog HERE). And I fly out to Seattle tomorrow. I should probably start packing for that, too... But as you can see, I am more busy post-finals than when I was right in the midst of all the exams.

In other news, I have been pondering the word "nowhere" as of late. Although some may say that my blog title, All Roads Lead To Nowhere, is grammatically incorrect, I say otherwise. Nowhere, I would tell them, is not simply a state of inexistence, but a destination. For example, you see your roommate dressed up and walking out the front door.

"Where are you going?" you ask.
"Oh, nowhere," they reply, oftentimes with an anxious grin on their face.

Of course, they are going somewhere. But perhaps they are completely unaware of their final destination. Maybe that is the whole point of going "nowhere." You are not bound to a single plan, but are leaving your fate completely up to chance. Oh, the possibilities! Oh, the adventure!

This is why that is my final destination. It is the place that all the roads, at least the ones that matter most, lead.

Nowhere.

Travel Time

I have been working like crazy lately, but I only had a six hour shift today so I thought I'd clue you all in on some good news! But first, let's just lay down some obvious facts.

1. I am travel-deprived. Before Florida, I never had left the Northwest/Midwest.

2. I am impulsive. Skydiving, bridge jumping, the whole nine yards.

3. I am getting a steady flow of paychecks. Having a job tends to do that.

So put it all together, and what do you get?!

You get me randomly buying a plane ticket for November to go to NEW YORK!!!! You have absolutely no idea how excited I am. Of anywhere in the country, NYC is the place I've always wanted to visit the most! I love big cities, and I just feel like I'm going to love it there! My roommate here at the DCP is from New Jersey and lives only about an hour away from the city, so we're going to stay at her house for the five days that we are there. In addition to NYC, we're going to be exploring Philadelphia and parts of New Jersey. And you better bet I'll be lugging along my camera to document the whole thing!

That's what I love about experiences like college, study abroad, or internships. You meet so many people from all over the world, which gives you the chance to learn more about those places, or go experience them for yourself! In two months, New York. Next year? Who knows! Right now, I'm just going with the flow and taking advantage of every opportunity life throws my way!

Forensics

As you may recall from my previous post, Vacation, I took a lovely, impromptu trip to Rexburg, Idaho. And now I figure it's time for part two! But unlike last time, I have taken an entire 4 days in advance to plan the trip (that's like 2 more days than last time!). I'll be leaving this Friday, and it's the perfect time seeing as my next round of exams aren't until finals week, which starts the 19th. So until then, there's no need to study, and much need to party! Well, maybe there is a minimal need to study... I'll do that later.

Anyway, I had my photo shoot earlier this morning for the Circle of Honor essay contest, where which I won first place and a $300 cash prize! And then spent it all the next day on my flight to Orlando for the DCP, so it went to a good cause!

I applied for a Student Auxiliary Services grant recently, and made it into the finals! My interview is next Wednesday, so keep your fingers crossed!

But most importantly, I am well into season 2 of Numb3rs, my absolute favorite crime show! And it goes without saying that Charlie Eppes is the best character, hands down. Now I'm actually considering narrowing my career path within the field of psychology - forensics! Then I can go work for the FBI! I'll be sure to let you know if it all works out, or if I just change my career path again based on the next TV show I drown myself in...

All Roads Lead to Disney!

To all my avid readers,

I have officially created a spin-off blog, All Roads Lead To Disney!, that will detail my adventures in the Disney College Program. I have already re-posted all my DCP related posts from this blog onto that blog. And that's all that's on there right now, so it's not very exciting yet. Honestly, I probably won't post very much in that blog over the next few months, but as August draws near, I will definitely start posting more frequently! Until then, all my DCP-related posts will be on that blog, so tune in every once and awhile to see what I have to say as I prepare for the best time of my life! I can only hope that these next five months fly by. I will also post a link to this new blog on one of the pages, as indicated by the helpful tabs above.
